Project Description:
Need an example of a cross domain Jquery - Ajax
Currently my Jquery against a webservice.asmx works great when the jquery and webservice.asmx are on the same server.
Here is the problem when I move the webservice.asmx to a different domain the Jquery fails for the following reasons:
-- reason 1; returns xml NOT JSON
-- returns a GET; not a POST
Look at the two attached screen shots. local webservice.jpg shows everything working & remote webservice.jpg shows the webservice returning XML.
Attached is a ZIP file with two websites. Place both in the Visual Studio 2010 project.
This should be done in Visual Studio 2010 with ASP.NET 4.0.
The websites are:
Site 1: Williamsport
Site 2: WebSite22
Williamsport has three files that are important
File 1: Defaults.aspx – this calls webservice2.asmx; method ZIP3_NEW
-this works, return JSON, returns a POST, JQUERY autocomplete pops up) – see local webservice.jpg
File 2: CrossDomain.aspx – this calls http://localhost:20568/WebSite22/ZIP3_NEW webservice; cross domain call
-this returns xml not JSON, also does not return a POST, stops at a get – see remote webservice.jpg
File 3: WebService2.asmx (this contains method ZIP3_NEW)
Website22 has one file that is important
File 1: WebService2.asmx (this contain method ZIP3_NEW -- this the webservice called during the cross domain call).
Both Site 1 and Site 2 have the same webservice. It is WebService2.asmx/ZIP3_NEW
Here is the job:
Build a Visual Studio 2010 project with both websites inside.
Step 1 - Run defaut.aspx from Williamsport Website - this runs well - no problem.
Step 2 - Run crossdomain.aspx from Williamsport Website - this does not return JSON and the JQuery does not receive the data to get the Autocomplete to work.
Look at the issues in Fiddler. Firebug or whatever debugger you want.
Get the crossdomain.aspx to work just like default.aspx
The project probable only involves changing a line of two of code for a developer that knows what he is doing.
I will give the best recommendation to whoever handles this for me.
*****************
I will award the job as soon as I get a qualified developer to give me a reasonable bid.
I need to get this this done ASAP.
