A press conference held Tuesday announced Kuwait China Investment Company's, yet to be formed, plans to enter various sectors with lucrative returns in the People's Republic of China and other East Asian countries. NIC's Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Asaad Ahmed Al Banwan said that the 400 million shares at a price equal to 105 fils per share is 50 per cent of the company's (manager of the IPO) capital of KD 80 million distributed over 800 million shares with no premium on charges. He stated that 50 per cent of the capital was already subscribed by the founders, while remaining shares will be offered for public subscription on Wednesday September 14 to Thursday Sept 29. Al Banwan asserted that this kind of investment will help diversify the risk and income resources, clarifying that KCIC will be studying the various sectors to ascertain the most lucrative investment opportunities with most of the company's capital employed in China and East Asian countries due to the remarkable economic growth underway in these countries. "This IPO is one of the largest public subscriptions undertaken by the Kuwaiti private sector highlighting NIC's excellent skills and abilities and proves its commitment to provide service excellence with unique investment opportunities to clients", Al Banwan said adding that the management of the IPO is the first of its kind for NIC. He added that founders of the new company include a group of Kuwaiti investment companies and individuals who have extensive experience in the investment arena with founders subscribing to and paying in full a total of 400,000,000 shares representing 50 per cent of the company capital. He expressed his pride in the founders' placement of trust in the management of NIC's IPO and confirmed the company's dedication in making the issue a true success.
