Project Description:
Good morning,
We are looking to develop a small software tool to assist in researching telephone numbers.
In general terms, the application requirements are as follows:
• Preferably developed in .net
• Load a series of telephone numbers from a file (CSV, text, or XLS formats)
• Perform basic checks to identify variants of the same number (e.g. 07981246999 or 7981246999 or +447981246999) and standardise in one format
• Option to filter duplicate telephone numbers
• For landline numbers, show the regional area (e.g. 0113 xxxxxxx is Leeds) by referencing a seperate database (CSV, which will be provided)
• Identify international dialling codes present in loaded numbers (e.g. +44 is UK, +001 is USA) by referencing a seperate database (CSV, which will be provided)
• Search on telephone directories, such as 118247.com and 192.com, to see if loaded numbers can be identified or related to individuals/businesses
• Search telephone numbers using Google, Yahoo, Bing, AOL, Twitter - include details of any matches and link to relevant web page
• Compare mobile numbers with a database (CSV, be provided) to identify the network operator (e.g. Vodafone)
• Search within specified folders either locally or across a network to identify matches with telephone numbers within other files (CSV, XLS, text, .doc, and PDF)
We do not require an attractive user interface (UI); just the above functionality. If you have any creative ideas on other features – I’d love to hear them :-)
We have plenty of similar projects in the pipeline, so assuming everything goes well on this job, the successful bidder will be given the option for further work in the coming weeks.
Any questions - please do drop me a line. Thanks for your interest!
Cheers,
Sam
