Project Description:
The idea is to create an UHF based RFID reader for automatic parking management system, where if the vehicle belongs to a particular colony, the barrier gate will open up and allow the vehicle inside, else not.
Passive RFID tags that work in UHF band will be placed on the vehicle. A long range UHF RFID reader with antenna will be placed near the barrier gate. When a vehicle approaches the gate, the RFID reader will read the unique ID of tag, validate it (micro-controller may be necessary for validatation) and give a control signal (active high or low) if found valid.
I require pleople with prior experience in this kind of project. The role of engineer is to design the acrhitecture, dissuss it with me, and implement it after approval. Only UHF based RFID reader part has to be implemented and some 10 - 20 tags should be provided to check it's working.
It is very important that the system is roboust, resistant to rain, sun and atomspheric changes. The receiver should be able to validate around 10,000 RFID tags. The time required to check if a particular tag is one of the 10,000 valid tags should not be more than 2 seconds.
The receiver should be able to detect the tag when it comes in a radius of 4 meters or more. Some kind of interface (TCPIP, Serial or any other) should be provided to add and delete valid tag IDs.
We will design the circuit to control the barrier gate switch based on control signal, so you need not worry about it.
