We are looking to make custom leather-bound iPads, decorated with metal and other accents. Not cases / accessories but the actual iPad itself! Our products are targeted at 30 - 55 year old males and females in all markets. We are just launching so we could be in business for quite a while!

We are looking for fashion / creative designers to make sketches (hand drawn or photoshops from existing iPad 2 photos online) of what you can do with an iPad 2 3G version. Our requirements are:

1. That the back case is wrapped in leather (Pick leather style / pattern / color as you wish) Could even be perforated leather!

2. That the buttons (power button, volume buttons, etc) are replaced with other materials, likely metal (gold, steel, etc) Shapes and styles of buttons can change as long as the overall size / placement don't change. (We don't intend on changing the underlying mechanics of the product)

3. That there are little metal frames that surround the buttons so the leather around the buttons doesn't wear out after repeated pressing. Please pay attention to the details here - the height / style / curvature / thickness of the frames matter a lot! 4. That the company name be placed somewhere on the back. We think having individual letters pinned to the leather would look great but feel free to get creative (eg: http://www.fullhouse-handbags.com/images/prada/p16.jpg) Use the letters "Freelancer" as the brand for now. Do not show the Apple logo or the "Designed by Apple in..." words on the back.

5. You can get creative with adding metal / precious material accents to the design as well. Perhaps a metal frame around the side (like on the iPhone 4?) or crystals around or on the back etc.

6. Any creative ideas of the front panel would be great as well.

7. Please be creative with the black plastic area on the back of the 3G model. We hate it and we think it's ugly. However replacing it with metal would interfere with reception. Think of a beautiful solution!

8. Keep the overall design slim, minimalistic, and not bulky.
We only require 1 design for the project but due to the nature of the product please have the design be in 2 to 3 angles, with one focused on the buttons and the frames.

We are looking for a minimalist design that also screams luxury. Does that mean exotic leather? Crystal / Gold accents? Please be creative. Your product could be targeted at either males or females of the educated, refined, tech-savvy, middle-to-upper class 30 - 55 year old. We might pick more than one candidate to develop future relationships with. Does it come across that a knack for fashion is the most important? Because it is!
