Project Description:

I need a proof of concept, that Java can play 4 stereo mp3s on 4 audio outputs. The sound card used is a 7.1 card. You should be able to create 4 virtual audio devices, each using 2 of the sound card's channels, and play music on them from Java.

Code playing the mp3 using JLayer/BasicPlayer is already available, you can use that as the basis.

So, the task is:
- SSH into a machine running a linux distribution of your choice
- Configure the sound card and the virtual devices using a technology of your choice (ALSA, PulseAudio)
- Extend the existing demo code so that it plays 4 stereo mp3s simultaneously on 4 outputs.
