Project Description:

We sell personalized identification tags. Currently we have a system that records personalized information for the product the customer orders on our website directly to a a data file list. If a personalized product is orders than a data file for it is created named after the Product ID from the individual order item in our back end shopping cart products area. If more than one of the same Product ID item is ordered than the data is added to the same file. If it is a new Product ID ordered it would create a new file name. If a Product ID is not ordered then no data file is created.

Our production crew downloads the data files list to make the personalized id tags. They do this by running a tool that grabs all the new personalized data files and downloads to their desktop. And then it deletes them all from the server and basically resets everything to be ready for new orders.

We want to go to a more robust and intuitive system of data file recording. Where the data files can be stored in a shared area. The production crew could access the folder and select the data file to personalize the id tags. Customer service could also access the same folders and edit the orders for changes, delete a canceled order, and add a new order data if they need to.

We think the data files need a new plan. Currently data files are created and named after the Product ID name in the shopping cart back end interface. Yet we have many similar products that have unique Product ID but could go in the same data file. For example we sell a red round large tag. And then another product has a round red large tag and a collar. Currently 2 data files would be recorded since there are different Product ID numbers. We would like to be able to select which data file the product records its info too. Which would allow for less data files and simpler production.

Our current programmer will no longer be available and we would like to find new programmer for this task as well as many other upgrades. The current programmer will be able to train on our system to get you up and running fast.

The most important thing we are looking for is trust. There is secure information such as credit card numbers, customer emails, etc. We need most trustworthy partner that will keep our information and access to our website most safe. We will pick programmer only after thorough review of multiple references to guarantee a trustworthy partner. Then we look for great LAMP programming skills. After this job we want to look at other upgrades concerning Order display in back end shopping cart, website upgrades, shopping cart upgrades, etc. We have many things we want to do to make our website, shopping cart, and back end shopping cart, experience more user friendly, thoughtful, and intuitive.
