Project Description:

This project is to create a pdf brochure with details of products taken out of a CubeCart 4 inventory. While having a good knowledge of the CubeCart 4 E-Commerce system would be very helpful (and required to create the admin definition program) and knowledge of producing pdf files from data stored in MySQL tables is just as important. If we have not already used you for a Freelancer project then please provide proof of your experience in these areas (not just boiler plate list of previous projects) otherwise your bid is likely to be simply ignored.

What is required is a new program accessible via the CubeCart Admin Menu that will produce a product brochure. The program should have two sections (that both use the fckEditor) where the layout of the front cover and also separately the inside front cover can be defined. These will then form the first two pages of a pdf brochure with the rest of the brochure being constructed automatically from the products in the database. The default option should be to include all enabled products but it should be possible to define which categories are included or excluded and also whether the category description is printed at the start of each new category. It should also be possible to define the length of the product description that is used to provide for truncated descriptions.

The layout of the brochure would be something like :

Page 2 - both of these as defined above
Page 3 onwards would start with the Category name and category description (if applicable) and then for each product in that category, a thumbnail image, product name, product description (to the number of characters defined above), price and if applicable sale price.

As these pdf brochures are to be distributed electronically, as well as professionally printed to be given out by hand, the category name should have a url link to the correct category in the store as should the product name and thumbnail image so that the relevant page opens in a browser if the pdf is viewed via a PC.
