Project Description:
We need to develop a Roku, Boxee, Apple TV and Google TV channels for a specific vertical.
We would like to have our own branding and have the ability for multiple viewing of channels to be streamed from a wowza streaming server.
We would like the ability to control access to the system and to what streams that each device can view through a sql database type of system.
We want to be able to maintain the channel inventory from a database. If we add another channel and we put a customer in that package, we want the channel to automatically show to the customer.
Roku utilizes a proprietary language known as BrightScript which they claim is similar to VisualBasic.
basic flowchart
Customer logs into application
Some type of check needs to be in place to log into database server and send crediatials from customer.
Database server will respond as to what channels customer can watch. These channels can be predefined
in the database server via a package or ala carte.
Customer can choose what channel they want to view the device will verify once again that customer is qualified for that channel. - If allowed then proceed to the stream that is specified for that stream channel. DRM needs to be working
to prevent anyone from going to the stream and viewing. Only authorized customers may view the stream.
- If not authorized proceed to a jail splash page where we can give further instructions.
When customer exits the stream, repeat the above process until the application is exited.
This is a rough idea as to what we're trying to accomplish.
Please outline your experience with any/all of the IPTV platforms. Not all may be required initially. Would appreciate pricing for each individually (channel platforms and CMS).
