While I enjoy the story developing here, this particular submission is somewhat like reading a history book, albeit a fictional history book. Focus on specific scenes and really dig into the emotions. That dream could be an amazing scene if you focus on the sense of haunting and loss. Also, more dialogue. At most four paragraphs of 4 sentences and then dialogue.
