Alishihan the JOIN is lovely and ok. for the Merge, it's the thing you did but I want it in reverse: so start with the two 3x3 blocks separated, and animate them to get stacked - but not fused! I mean, just pile them one above the other without overlapping. do you see what I mean?

Alishihan this looks promising. For the GIF I would like two stages: one where the sheets are one above the other and they animate to merge (not intersect, as you have drawn).So start with the 3x3 exactly above the other 3x3 then they approach together vertically and stack in a 3x6. Write the word MERGE when they finish merging. The 2nd part of the animation is you have the 3x3 horizontally alligned with a 2x3 (2 columns 3 rows) sheet. The last column in the left sheet should be yellow as well as the 1st column of the 2nd sheet. The 2nd column of the 2nd sheet to be dark green. They approach one another horizontally, the yellow columns fuse - the end result is a 5x3 (5 columns: first two greenish, then the yellow one, then the dark green). the word JOIN should appear. Tak e care, you have more real estate than what you used: the animation is 440x280, so you can create the animation on a larger canvas (see the "competition" attachment in the project post)
