I've added a design #5. I have made it very basic so it's easy to take it in any direction. I'll add another design. There are alot of things to change but I wanted to know your opinion first.

Design #1 looks alright, but I don't think the look is quite clean enough.
Doesn't really need the stats down the left hand side or the login up the top - should use screen space as efficiently as possible.
Has distinction between contests/projects, but it could do with a bit more of a distinction.
It needs logos for fulltime, featured, sealed, private, highligted and guaranteed.
