Appliance Installers must have construction experience for removing and installing cabinets if needed for proper installation of new appliances. They also should be able to accurately measure existing cabinetry and make the necessary adjustments for fitting appliances.

Depending on the state or territory where an Appliance Installer is located, they may be required to be certified or licensed in Appliance Installation. If they are working with gas lines or electrical wiring, they may need to have the proper certification or licensing. Some Appliance Installers may also have a General Contracting license for remodeling kitchen or utility room cabinetry.
