I have a piece of hardware which came with software which displays various values of the hardware. Their software also allows you to switch the hardware on or off via the software. The hardware connects to the RS232 com port on the computer where the software is installed, you simply open the software and direct it to the com port it which then displays the values. Instead of using their software I would like to use CitectSCADA to read the com port directly and display the values as tags within Citect. This would allow me to display all the values as well as turn the device on and off via CitectScada.
