I'm seeking an expert to help design a culvert and gravel driveway in a floodplain for a residential project (single home access). I am currently under contract on a parcel of land in Cabarrus County North Carolina. It will need an engineered culvert and gravel driveway design to cross a creek (20 feet wide). It is in a 100 yr flood zone. Cabarrus County Planning and Zoning said we will need a Floodplain Development Permit and I'm told that needs to include a flood study. The culvert and gravel driveway are all we are doing in the floodplain, the house and all utilities will be outside of it. I am seeking an experienced mechanical or FEA engineer to perform a static structural finite element analysis (FEA) on a plastic lid component made from Polycarbonate (PC-110). The goal of the analysis is to estimate the force required to cause yielding or failure when a load is applied at the center of the lid panel. A STEP file of the part and a detailed instruction PDF are attached here. The simulation should apply a load perpendicular to the lid surface over a 1-inch diameter circular area at the center, while the perimeter of the lid is constrained as shown in the attached instructions.
