Climate change in the Arctic

I would like to discuss the issue of climate change’s impact on biodiversity, particularly in the Arctic. Because the Arctic, Antarctic, and high latitudes have the highest rates of warming, there has resulted a reduction in the extent of sea ice. With less ice comes less reflective surface and more rapid melting which directly affects the habitat of animals and species living there. This has an impact on the Arctic’s primary production from birds, fish, marine animals, and land animals such as polar bears, and their relationship up the food chain. I would like to discuss these effects on the environment surrounding these species, how they adapt, and the possible genetic effects. Along with more information that can be researched.
