For this paper you need to focus on a Digital Media phenomenon/object (case study) that has not been widely discussed in the existing literature or has not been discussed in the required texts of the specific course. You may use concepts that we have discussed in class to describe this case study (transmedia storytelling) but you need to highlight whether this new trend or phenomenon challenges a definition or invites further problematization of a definition specific to the above concepts. Therefore, your paper should demonstrate a good understanding of digital media theory and the ability to develop/express a solid analysis of the chosen object of study. The paper should also demonstrate the ability to identify what is a digital/new media object/form and what kind of processes/functions may define what is new about it as a digital or new media object. You are welcome to suggest a case study that you would like to work on other than those included in the list of case studies suggested below. Suggested Case Studies: The Official Website of a Popular TV show or a recent film Fan-oriented websites An Electronic Commerce Company An example of New Media Art An example of New Technologies Pervasive Ads or web banners or banner ads (e.g. live banner) The essay should cite 5 sources (minimum).
