I currently have a PLC that i would like to replace. The current PLC and software solution is used in combination to control an electric motor in both the forwards and reverse operation. The PLC has inputs from the incremental encoder and proximity sensor. Basically a target length is entered into the system and the motor starts - Once the target length is achieved the motor stops. I have an incremental encoder 1000 pulses per revolution. 200mm circumference wheel. Currently the motor over runs the target once it is switched off. I would like to reduce this with some sort of offset on the target length. I would like to replace the PLC and software with an arduino & relays to control the motor. I imagine that the arduino will be more of a communication device between the PC or Tablet and the electric motor. The majority of this task will be programming. I would like to control this via bluetooth if usb is easier then i will run with that for now. This is more of a prototype. just the basics at this stage. Im guessing someone multi-skilled in both software and hardware will be needed. Someone with experience please I have a sketch appears to work well with the encoder. Im really after someone who knows what they are doing!! Please do not apply unless you are 100% sure you can complete the project. I am wanting someone who can make an immediate start! What kind of PLC you have now. What kind of encoder you have . Now the motor has ON/OFF control only? You need just one offset - The PLC also could communicate with PC . I could help you with arduino , but you have to be sure what you need and what you will reach.

Hello. I am expert in PLC/SCADA/Arduino. I have reviewed your project carefully. I think you should use PLC S7-1200 for your project because: - S7-1200 has 2 high speed counter able receive pulse encoder. - S7-1200 has 2 analog inputs able receive signal proximity sensor. - Can do a website on S7-1200, so that you can access this website from any device to monitor/control your system. - Easy for install, power, wiring, program. - Low price I program in S7-1200 for $155. Time: About 4-6 days Thanks.

I only a few questions 1) what of motor are you using * a small stepper motor should ideal,if your not using one already 2)can i use MOSFET instead of relays * it would make it much easier to control,with PWM I really would do this for free, bcoz it sound like a fun project but also need to eat
