Eyes of Rome is an Association of Tour Guides operating in Rome.

We offer:

• Private Tours

• Chauffer Car Service for Airport Transfers or City Sightseeing.

Our average client are North American Middle and Upper Class ($$$) 1st time and returning Rome travelers.

We are looking for a website addressing 2 different targets audience:

• Family traveling with children (6-15)

• Couples (40+) traveling alone.

With 2 target audiences so different the choice of the design must be carefully evaluated before starting to layout the whole project.

One or a Combination of the following design styles:

• Elegant (Stylish and Smart)

• Colorful (Kids oriented, Vacation Spirit)

We are currently looking for a programmer for the first part of the project, which is detailed below. I can send more information on the rest of the project but this is what we are looking to start with:

The new EOR Website we are looking to implement must bring together some important features that are Key for our project:

Ecommerce/Shopping Cart:

Our new booking system will need to be developed as an Ecommerce that will allow the user to add one or multiple services (tours) to a shopping basket.

The client can select a tour and add-on additional services to it. Specifically, they will select a tour, for example “Vatican Museums” which is 3 hours, but then they will be presented with options for extending the tour as well (extra sites, extra hours), or adding services (book another tour, airport transfer). Once added the extra services, the price will need to be recalculated instantly and automatically. The system will have to have parameters on start times and days the tour is available. When the client is done, the booking form will record several fields (name, date, tour, etc.). The client will get an e-mail response.

The entire “shopping basket” will look and feel like a “itinerary” more than a basket.

A good example of a shopping basket we might need is to opt for a drag and drop cart like the one at [url removed, login to view]

Once the booking has completed, if needed the user will have the opportunity to edit some of the details of the booking, such as adding new services to the existing booking or changing the starting time or delete previous added services.

- How to edit the booking?

- Maybe through a login username or through a booking reference number given at the time of the 1st booking?. Are there other possibilities?

There is no need at the moment to implement an online credit card payment option as the services will be paid only after the tour directly to the tour guide. Payments with Paypal instead is something we might decide to request soon.
