a) Creation/Set Up: •Create your own blog using Blogger.com. •Choose an appropriate URL (blog web address) and template. •Add a short biography and photo onto your blog in the bio section. •Create a short introductory posting that welcomes readers, gives them an explanation of social media, and the social media topics that you will write about over the next several weeks. b) Blog Posting: Write a blog posting (between 500 – 750 words) on the following: After reading "A Magical Block of Time: Lessons Learned from My Digital Sabbatical" (located in Week 5's lesson/module) discuss your own experiences of the Social Media Sabbatical and the role social media plays in your life and society. Cover all (or most) of the following: •Whether it was difficult for you to avoid social media. •The reactions of your friends and family, and if they contacted you during the sabbatical. •If you were successful with obstaining from using social media for 48 hours and why. •If you weren’t successful then what caused you to cheat? •What does your experience say about how communication is changing? •What were some of the lessons learned through this experience? Will it change any of your future online habits? •Think critically about the bigger picture and analyze social media’s impact on you, your work, school, and society
