Greetings :) I am a semi-retired R&D engineer who is used to working in global names in electronics, manufacturing , transport etc. Specialise in low-level harware based software and systems projects, but individual device, and large sacle enterprise I/T/engineering/government projects. As for your project, there are LOADS of options/routes to consider or take: 1) One possible one is to use a Raspberry Pi-(running embedded Linux), find a suitable LCD screen (can be done with relatively little effort), and then include all the other software/.hardare components in to that system; program it; and you should be good to go. 2) The other option is to research and get hold of a ready-to-go off-the-shelf embedded device such as R-Pi, but with an LCD screen already attached to it, and a relevant keyboard etc... already attached to it. We can then program the software side of things using my speciality skills in C/C++. 3) Finally, you may also be buy a scientific calculator which does most of this for you- minus some of your custom and niche requirements. I am familiar with embedded software developing. STM32F1xx and STM32F4xx is the most MCU I have been used, and they can deal with scientific calculator easily. My IDE is IAR or MDK on Windows, they can debug online which is easy to watch the living variables. I don't know why you want to develop this same as Casio, and how do you think about the cost? May be we can talk more about this project.
