conversion of an algorithm into c program

I think I understand what your are asking for and I did similar coding before. From the description of the algorithm, the bone workflow is a recursive sort on the 1st half and 2nd half of a list. Then, perform a merge sort on the two halves to make a whole sorted list. I am sure I can help you quickly. Also based on the description, it seems you haven't consider what about the list is large and recursive approach may cause the stack overflow. So if that may show up when your data is bigger and bigger, I may even work with you to refine the original algorithm to make it overcome this problem.
