Hi,
I am a tech geek that absolutely loves teaching other people the in's and out's of programming. My approach to teaching is more project-oriented than spoon-feeding.
I'd ideally break down a few concepts to you, then give you tasks which you would have to complete in a specific duration. Don't worry, I'll be helping you every step of the way.
I'm also a hacker, so that makes me know a little more about programming than the other douche-bags out there that are going to have you open up a textbook and read some bullshit. Not that books aren't good, but that's not the first step. The first step, in my opinion, is breaking the ice, finding out what you're *really* uncomfortable with and then building up from basics so you feel extremely comfortable with everything.
I've mentored C++ under Bjarnes Stroustrup. You can ask him yourself. I've also hacked Google, and that's publicly verifiable. Just google-search my name.
Another quick fact: I'm not doing this for the money. I'm doing this for of the thrill of teaching someone programming.
Cheers,
Abhinav
