The task is to create a computer readable document of AASHTO LRFD design code for the design of steel I girder bridges. AASHTO LRFD is a big code -- the task only entails sections that apply to the girders themselves. Other components of the structure is not covered under this task. Your first task would be to skim through the code and identify the sections that apply to the design of steel I girders. You will create a list of data needed in order to carry out the design. You will create a flow-chart format document (in XML format), that describe the design process. No experience with XML is necessary.

I am a structural engineering and mechanics graduate student. In my steel 2 course we designed a plate girder (I-shaped) bridge to LRFD, taking advantage of tension field action. I have the following questions: Will the AASHTO LRFD code be the 6th edition? Can you provide more detail concerning the "flow-chart format document"? I have extensive experience with XML, but not 100% sure what you mean by flow-chart format.
