Develop examples for a proofreading workbook (Canadian)

This project is very specifically Canadian. To tackle it, you need the following: A good working knowledge of Canadian proofreading marks and conventions for marking up A complete grasp of Canadian spelling and language issues A good sense of what kind of errors are realistic in the Canadian workplace Access to material you can use as a source without any copyright restrictions There are three components. You can bid on just one or on all three (though I would likely want to see one before moving ahead with the rest). I need pages created to use as exercises in a Canadian proofreading workbook. The idea is to create an exercise page containing errors and then an answer showing correct markup. Each exercise should fit on a single 8.5 X 11 page. Note that I'm looking very specifically for proofreading exercises (not copy editing) and the markup must Canadian marking symbols and conventions (as documented in The Canadian Style). You can use any topic for the base material though it must, of course, be free from any copyright restrictions. It should also be appropriate for a Canadian audience of professionals, particularly employees of the government. I have in mind three separate exercises, given here in order of complexity. Each requires both the exercise and the answer key showing appropriate markup. 1. Simple text: A page of text with a number of small errors injected (e.g., spelling, word use, typos). The errors should be as realistic as possible and should be varied to show the use of different copyediting marks. The goal of this one is to show how copy should be marked up for proofreading. 2. Basic layout: 2-column newsletter page, no graphics. A page of newsletter copy (with several short articles so there's at least two headings on the page) set in 2-column format. This one should include some layout errors (e.g., bad breaks, widows, flow problems), a problem with the headings (e.g., inconsistent capitalization), and a typographical problem or two (e.g., wrong font). It can also include a few textual errors. 3. Complex page with graphics: A page with material destined for print (e.g., a page from a glossy annual report) that includes graphics. The errors on the page must include errors of correspondence between the text and the graphics and a few realistic errors in the graphics themselves (e.g., an error of scale or text appearing in mirror image, a fairly obvious error of basic math or proportion in a chart or graph). There should also be some mistakes of correspondence between the text and the graphics. The graphics should include at least one image (photo or line art) and at least one chart or graph.
