For any game which fits into an excel spreadsheet, python would make an admirable next step up. Its graphics support is fairly simple, nothing overly complex. I assume that you just want an interface to dress up the inputs and outputs which are available to 'play' the game, as the game itself is already built once in excel and only requires translation.
This specification is quite incomplete, so I would have to see much more detail of what is desired for the user interface. Sketches or rough diagrams of what is wanted would be ideal, descriptions of same would suffice. The excel game itself, if complete, will be specification enough for the backend of the program. As the interface will be what you interact with, it is the most important part of the game, so I'd like to request a lot more detail on it. The depth and type of interactivity required will determine the proper python modules to use.
