create an Python project that can: - get values via pyMeasure([login to view URL]) library - save them in an excel cell with xlWings([login to view URL]) I need GUI for Windows 10 with actual Python installed (like [login to view URL]) with form: 1. to configure the adapter([login to view URL]) and the instrument ([login to view URL]) to control 2. to make a measurement and save result and send to a cell in Excel - X measurements in X ms - measure - make average - save for the handling python - excel - I would prefer xlwings([login to view URL]) If someone has better idea for a small python tool that can have UI with this both forms to control Python please make offer also. NOTHING is fixed planed. All logic should be in python. For testing I have some instruments and an Prologix adapter. The project will be sourced in bitbucket from first description and should be quite clear planed so long term using is possible.

Hello, I'm an experienced Python developer and I have worked with Excel, SCADA projects, sensors reading, databases, web programming, git and bitbucket. I usually prefer building web interfaces for such projects so that the user can control the application using any device (PC, Mac, smartphone). While Excel works OK for small data sets a proper database (such as Postgres, MySQL) is a lot more flexible and scalable. If you want the GUI built for Windows 10 does this mean it would only run when your computer is on? What about using a VPS or a cheap Raspberry Pi to run the data collection and use the Windows PC to just view the data and control the parameters. I noticed in the pymeasure docs that the Prologix adapter is exemplified using Linux (I have worked with it for many years). If you could give me a few more details about the project I think together we can find the optimal solution. Best wishes, iticus
