Build a simple yet elegant "Men's magazine" website

For this project I'm looking for a solid programmer AND designer. I don't want a team, and I don't want to hire more than one person. I need someone who can effectively design in real-time while coding (basically freestyling what I tell you with CSS, and making it look good). I'm very specific as far as what I want, so there shouldn't be too much effort there. I already have an HTML boilerplate/wireframe set up. You would take this, and we would work on it section by section with me. So, I may say to you: "Ok, let's start with the header. Please make it function like [login to view URL] as well as [login to view URL]". From there, it's up to you to model the functionality, and add basic styling so it looks good. I'd leave you be for a few hours where we would reconvene and move on to the next section. Then we might move to the sidebar, where I might say "Ok -- here are the exact widgets I want in the sidebar, and in what order. Here is the content I want in each widget, please code it in, and make it look good". If you prefer, we could save styling until the end, although its important to note here, that traditional ' web design' and artistry won't be needed on my particular design, here's what I mean by that: - My site will primarily be text, simple shapes, very sharp crisp lines - My site will have extremely tight spacing - Overall, it will be quite plain relative to what a lot of "design" out there is like... this is a site to showcase content, and as such I want the design to not impede the content, which is most important. So what does that leave? I think these are the things that actually require designing: - Solid use of colors, lots of contrast, sharp accents of color which stand out - Solid use of fonts - Overall appealing layout while still remaining very minimal You MUST provide a portfolio with example work, or I will ignore your bid. To sum up the site, think of a 'news site', with lots of content and text widgets, but still a very effective use of space, color, and type.
