Hello Brian, I have been working with SharePoint since last 5+ years and have been managing multiple SharePoint on premise and Office 365 projects. Here's the approach we can go forward. #1 If you have design ready then please share it so that I can review it properly and we can discuss further #2 If you have HTML mockup ready, I can start working on master page and page layout as per requirements. #3 Once done with master page and page layout, I can work on the individual components placed on the home page. I have five years of experience in SharePoint(2010,2013) design,development,administration and configuration. The first thing to do is to carefully document the business requirements needed to successfully build application. Don't look for a technical solution first as that rarely works well. Know what you need first. That way you will be less likely to be led astray by "shiny things" or clever marketing.

I have a day job as a SharePoint Developer for a multinational company that caters to 73% of the Fortune 500 companies. I do the development of our Portal product for most of this companies. I can only allocate approximately 4hrs. of work for this project, thus spanning around 20days work. My assumption is you already have designs for your pages, this could be ranging from the main homepage layout and some additional pages which could very much be reused across the site. A masterpage will be created for your site and page layouts will be created additionally for the pages that the intranet site will be using. In my experience constant communication will be needed to make a project successful. Thus I will be requiring you to have a constant back and forth communication from time to time. I could probably setup something to make the initial layouts visible for your checking. This in on the assumption that only initial content will be created.
