Brainchild Entertainment is an entertainment production company. It produces and makes movies.
WHAT WE WILL PROVIDE:
- A WordPress theme: The theme is already picked for you with many of the features we require. We have done a lot of research and settled on a theme that matches what we are looking for and has a lot to offer for what we want to do. So that should cut the workload tremendously. - Logo, artwork, and any other material concerning our company that would be required (team members' biographies, photos, projects' details,..etc).
- Time: We would rather do this right than ‘rush’ to finish it. A reasonable agreement would be have to be reached to deliver those features we require on time.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
- You will go through an interview (via Chat): We need to know that you are the right match to be a collaborator.
- You will have to provide samples of your work.
- The theme will be the foundation: Upon which we will continue to work and improve the website as we go. So forward-thinking when it comes to your decision-making process is key (CLEAN code,...etc). In a nutshell this means is to think a head when making any design decisions, because you will be contacted in the future (as a separate project) to add more features to the website and you don't want things to be messy.
- Elegant and simple design features are very important to us: Less text and clutter, easy to navigate, has fun and clever design elements that show attention to detail.
- Has to match our company's chosen colour palette. This will be inspired by our logo and a few other artistic decisions we make. We are definitely colour-conscious and selective about the amount of colours we want our website to have (no rainbow for sure).
- SOCIAL MEDIA AGGREGATION: Aside from the integration of social media (Facebook, Twitter, Vimeo, YouTUBe, Pinterest, Vine, Skype, Instagram,...etc) in our website, this feature will probably be CUSTOM-DESIGNED BY YOU AND WILL TAKE THE MOST AMOUNT OF TIME: We will need a PLUGIN that automatically pulls in new posts from our social media accounts and displays them in a beautiful and elegant way on our website’s HOME PAGE AS A FEED. So if is a Facebook post, an Instagram picture, or even a blog post from the website itself, it all needs to show up as a ‘live’ feed on our Home page with the proper social media icon. You would be also able to filter by social media type and son on. The plugin itself can be purchased, but the trick is for it match and fit PERFECTLY with our chosen theme. - Load times are critical. Needs to be as fast as it could be and navigates smoothly - there are many factors that contribute to this, we know. Since the website is focused on images and looped videos, this might take us a few tries to reach a happy medium between load-in times and the content it loads.
- Has to work on multiple browsers and mobile devices, and be SUPER SLICK (smooth scrolls up and down the page without freezing or stalling,...etc). This is not new, all newly designed themes are responsive, but the requirement here is for it be AS SMOOTH AS POSSIBLE across multiple browsers and mobile devices. This comes from the theme, sure, but can be improved upon given a few factors.
- It will have a blog.
- It will have a forum (already built-in in the provided theme): This will be deactivated for the time being but we will activate it in the future and have a sign-up form for users to get a name and password for participation in our community.
- It will have an online store to order t-shirts, digital downloads,…etc A basic store features are already built-in in the theme, but we will need future improvements. This feature also will be deactivated for the time being, but we will activate it when we are ready to do so.
