Design a Logo

I am looking to brand a website. I require a professional original logo/character to build around. The theme is Medical Marijuana. This is a professional group that advocates for patients in the State of Massachusetts in the USA. I would like to have a mascot which would be a animated animals with a human characteristics. I'm thinking two crows that I could place in different marketing situations. Like smoking marijuana, doctor patient situation, sitting in a tree pointing and chatting etc. The crows need to be completely different from Heckle and Jeckle which is a trademarked cartoon from the 1950-60's. 70's. The abbreviation for the site name should also be included. (MMIM) Basically this project is a start of my branding process. The designer I hire must be able to submit multiple (at least 3) ideas and work with me for a week or so getting this right. I would like to retain the same designer I hire to take the branding to the next level. Creating banners, and different animations for the categories of the website. For that purpose I am beginning with $30- to $250- simple project. The write design at the right price will likely become my go to designer for the website. The site is wordpress with Genesis theme. I'm new to this so please have patients and be able to work with me. I will be trademarking and copy writing these images so they cant be resold to anyone else. Thank you
