Design a logotype for sports event

Hi there, I am looking for a great logo design for sport events I am directing. Here are some informations about those races. XDU'12 is the name of the series that took place in 2012 (in 2011 it was XDU'11 and in 2010 it was XDU'10). X stands for cross (as in cross country running) and DU stands for Duathlon (a multisport discipline combing running with biking and than again with running). XDU'12 has 2 editions: "Wiosna" (it stands for Spring in Polish) and "Jesień" (which stands for Fall). A logo should be universal for all actual and future events (i guess it means the XDU part is the most universal). in future years I would like to alter the name of events by adding a year number to it so it would be XDU'13 XDU'14 and so on but the overall impression of a logo should be saved. There needs to be some space for specific edition title - in 2012 it is XDU'12 "Spring" and XDU'12 "Fall". The last thing is that event logo should be somehow specific to each edition (i.e. Spring logo should be decorated with some spring flowers and Fall logo should be decorated with some mud and yellow falling down leaves).
