Design some Icons

Concept: The overall concept for these icons is to translate the primary principles of the Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇava theological system into symbols so that they are easy to identify, remember, and teach. People can then see (or be attracted by) the icon, read the concept they represent, and then take interest in reading a sentence or paragraph about the concept. Thereafter, they can be lead on to read an essay, a book, listen to a lecture, talk to a representative, or in some way further enquire. This process can happen with 10 seconds let’s say. These icons will be useful for websites, banners, cards, and any other promotional materials. The icons can also be used in an array on promotional materials to support a brand identity and instantly remind viewers of the source from which the material they are viewing is coming from. Style: The ideal style for the icons is that they appear natural and ecologically aware, modern and sophisticated, simple and clear (minimalistic), while having some hint of being ancient and Indian. In gist, to merge modern ‘green’ aesthetics with the aesthetics of ancient Indian mysticism. Palette: I would like the colours used to be based on the colours of nature found in the traditional paraphernalia of Vaishnavism, mainly the brown of sandalwood, the green of Tulasi, and the gold of gopi-chandan tilak. Additionally, a blue representing the Himalayan Ganges, a purple representing the purple in Krishna Tulasi plants, an orange of the Champaka flower, and some off whites with hints of magenta and yellow coming from varieties of Jasmine are also possible. I would like a file listing the RBG, CMYK, and hex values for the colours chosen. The graphic set described below will be done in the colours of the palette (combinations with black, whites, and shades of grey are also acceptable) and typically will be done in a such a way that the specific colour for a given icon can be interchangeable with others in the palette. Shape: The graphics ideally are suitable for display within a circle or a rounded corner square (e.g. the icon for apps on iPhone), and the library should ultimately have within it each icon within each shape for easily application. Detail: the images need not be highly detailed and are ideally detailed just to the extent that the concept is clearly conveyed, not more and not less. References: The family of icons from the company Navitas Naturals ([login to view URL]) is an ideal reference for the style I would like to go for. I like both the pastel style colours of the icons and the minimalistic style in which they are done. The logo of the UK company Inspiral as well as that of the Indian company Mayur plywood are also good references. Attached is a file of some initial attempts at some of our the figures and concepts we wish to illustrate Format: I would like to receive the files as vectors in .ai format and in .pdf or .jpg for quick reviews during the production process. Development: I would hope that each graphic come out completed in an average series of three iterations in which the artist makes an initial attempt according to provided specifications, and then three rounds of review and fine tuning are done to ensure we get an ideal final product. Longterm: There is potential for long-term collaboration on this project outside the initial posted budge as we have a large number of desired icons, and if an artist can capture the style we are going for and apply it consistently, we will have a lot of work them to do.
