Develop a REST Web Service for Search and Return Hotel Rooms (Java or RoR)

This project is to develop a REST Web Service for Search and Return Hotel Rooms. The code should be done in Java or Ruby on Rails with a Postgres 9 backend. ## Deliverables This project is to develop a REST Web Service for Search and Return Hotel Rooms. The code should be done in Java or Ruby on Rails with a Postgres 9 backend. We will provide the following: - A database of hotels - A web service for receiving availability and pricing of the hotels (credentials plus documentation). Your web service must do the following: 1 -- Receive a web service request with the location, check-in date, check-out time, and any preferences. 2 -- Using the database identify closest hotels (DB includes geocode). 3 -- Request and receive availability and pricing for those hotels. 4 -- Filter out and score results based on preferences. Exact formula to be provided. 5 -- Return the results in XML, including details about the hotels. The results must be ordered by score. You will be required to submit for approval the structure and parameters for a request and response (results) prior to coding.
