The Purpose of the app is to give it to restaurant visitors that should be able to use a web based menu to choose and arder their meal.
We need an app that is launching a browser kiosk mode. The app should work in honeycomb and 2.2. The devices are rooted!
Here are the detailed features that we need:
-> Fixed URL: The Browser should allow to open only one URL that is predefined in the settings
-> The settings section should be available as a small button but should require a password entry
-> Kiosk Mode means: Full screen browser (no URL bar), in honeycomb no action bar (the bar at the bottom) - Users should not be able to close or go outside the application
-> You should only be able to close the browser through the settings section that is password protected
-> The password should be change-ble in the settings section
-> Zoom can be activated or de-activated in the settings section
-> Frames within the main domain that access external domains should work
-> The application should have an autostart mode -> when someone restarts the device it should automatically launch with this app
-> The browser should be really light and should work on devices like the viewsonic 10s (upgraded to honeycomb 3.2)
The whole logic will be web based. We need only the browser which is displaying the web site.
The website will be realized completely in jquery mobile. You can test with the demos there. That's the ui we are using.
As an example you can see the following app: "Kiosk Browser HC". The problem there is that you cannot disable the bottom action menu and also you cannot enter the settings once you have setup the app once. We need a gesture or something that displays a small settings icon that let's you enter the settings section after entering the password. Exiting the app should alos only be possible through the settings section.
Hello friend, I am very happy to let you know that we have already developed kiosk mode for two android apps as demo purpose. I will send that at PM. Warm Regards Biplob
