Already done couple similar projects. Instead of stores it was geo located songs, similar idea they are displayed on the map (when you click on one in the map the song info is shown), one of options was to see it sorted by distance in a list. Another project was also with maps and displaying tourism stops (data also received from web in JSON) and on click on a marker new window with following information is displayed. I use Google maps for displaying a map in mobile apps. Wrote 30 days for this project for extra communication and code quality, though if in a hurry project (mainly functionality) can be done faster.
