I need to add a beveled border around some controls in a WPF project.
The bevel must be transparent and rounded-looking (see the attached example image).
It must be resizeable in the sense that the frame can be resized while the bevel must retain its width.
The colors, transparency level and bevel width should be customizable, of course.
It would be best if the bevel is based on the Border or Grid control (it does not have to be a custom control though).
It should be done in XAML, no code behind.
If the above is not possible, please offer the alternative and include some arguments.
I would like to avoid Blend if possible. However, you can try to persuade me . Note that whatever comes out of Blend must be reusable in any VS WPF project in a simple way.
Your deliverable will be a Visual Studio WPF .Net 4 solution (and optional Blend project) that demonstrates the bevel.
The XAML code must be clean, self documenting and optimized.
I am looking for a developer experienced in WPF who has done something like this before and can reproduce it quickly (in the sense of work-hours), hence the low price. I am NOT saying it is "a simple thing to do".
I will likely have more jobs like this one in the next couple of weeks.
I will consider bids that include an executable showing the above described beveled effect before other bidders.
I usually research and do such things myself but I have a large project and I'm trying to optimize my time. It is not urgent, though.
