ckEditor - send Ajax request on link click

I have a ckEditor instance. I want to be able to double-click on the links within the ckEditor instance, which will create either a pop-up or a new tab/page and load up the data into a form from the database. For example, if I double click on a link that is linked to "apple", I want to have a popup page pop up with all the data I have in my database related to "apple" in a form, so I can edit them.
