I need an additional level of functionality to be added on top of an existing commercial Java API.
The API provides a complete application. The application allows users to click in organic molecules and the API will tell the user the name of the molecule. I want the following features to be added by the coder: The application will display new organic molecules (which are already stored in the API, so a good search function can be used instead of a complex molecule generation function) and the user will be asked what the name of the molecule is. Since the application already "knows" the name of the molecule, it can check the user's answer. The application stores information what "concepts" the user is having trouble with, and supplies a larger number of these problems to help the user learn the concept. The application may do the reverse function, supplying the user with a molecule name and requesting that the user click it in.
Obviously, almost all of the functionality is already in the API. I will respond with information about where to find the API if you request.
A good user interface is of key importance, so bidders with strong experience in clean user interfaces are preferred.
