Blackberry Contact List Synchronization Project
Blackberry
Platform - 1.6.0.49
Blackberry - 3.7
I want an application that will synchronize a Eudora 6.1 Contact List with the Blackberry Contact List.
Eudora keeps it's list as a series of binary and text files in a specific folder and you would need to work out the details of mapping the fields between the two systems.
The text file Looks a bit like XML:
------ example here below ------
------ example here below ------
alias "NewNickName Here" theFullNickName AT [login to view URL]
note "NewNickName Here" <otherphone:OtherPhoneNum><otheremail:OtherEmailAddress AT [login to view URL]><mobile2:310.612-7896w><fax2:310-314-tFAXwork><phone2:310-314-9983w><zip2:00123><country2:USA><state2:NY><city2:New York><address2:567 Wall Street Work Suite A><company:SBAINC><title:President><mobile:310-612-7896h><fax:310-314-tFAX><phone:310-314-9983h><zip:90291><country:USA><state:CA><city:HomeCity><address:12345 Main Street Home Address><last:NickName><first:theFull><name:theFull NickName>
------ example here above ------
------ example here above ------
So the application would read the two contact lists and then:
1. Add any new contacts from Eudora into the Blackberry
2. Add any new contact from the Blackberry into Eudora
3. Examine any differences between the two and let the user choose which version of the Contact is the correct one... or cancel the synch for that contact so it can be done manually.
This should happen automatically whenever the user plugs his blackberry into the USB connection used for synchronization. This should be able to be launched via a mouse click as well... at least bring up the application and allow for the user to initiate synchronization.
I am open as to the time frame to do this work... and I am open as to what features should be included or excluded.
This should run on both NT machines and XP machines.
We will have a lengthy discussion before accepting any bid so we understand each other clearly. It is assumed you have Blackberry API experience.
Thank you,
Brian
