I need a Book Price Comparison Site.
(The programmer will do the backend - I will do the templates and other site design). The main feature of the site is that it searches all the major bookstores (A List of the required sites will be given but for now you can look at the list of sites at [login to view URL] - there are a few sites that they search that I do not want to search but plan on doing almost all). You will be responsible to email each site to get the details on the best way to do this. You can give them my email and my name so they can contact me if anyof them has any questions. Some have APIs, some will tell you that you need to scrape the information (One site even has a seperate server for scrapers). Book Search will basically be divided into two parts: Books with ISBNS and Out-of-Print/Rare. Books with ISBN's (which is usually called inprint) search will search our databases of product information, bring back a list of books based on the visitors search (which will need to be accurate and bring back the best results at the top). At the top of all of these searches will be a link to search for it using the Out-of-Print/Rare search. Out-of-Print/Rare search. You won't need to search as many sites with this one but still probably 25 sites. The book information will probably come from Amazon. The needs to be fast (as fast as the top competing sites). Look at [login to view URL] for an example a site similar to what I want (this will give you an idea of how a book search works. When I posted this project before, the programmers couldn't understand what I wanted so I thought it would be helpful to give an example of a similar site). To do this project you will need to know PHP, MySQL, ModRewrite, API, CURL, Etc.
