We have need of a small TCP server application to be set up to listen on a dedicated IP address (which we have) and parse data packets into a local mySQL database. The service needs to run continuously and if it stops I need to get an alert and have a way of restarting it, or getting it started automatically. Not a big job for a good PHP developer, so be realistic with prices!

Hi there, Understood the requirement and I have worked on similar apps before. Are you planning to run the script on your local host or from web hosting? I assume you'll know how to set it up and run it, I can help with that later if needed. Also the data which you're planning to send, will it be plain text or other formats? Regards, Julijan

Hello, I suggest you use Python instead of PHP, is better suited for this task. I understand you have a hosting for this, I assume is Linux-based? I can provide a solution that checks if the service is running once per minute and restarts it if it's down. Thanks, Bogdan
