Cron task reminders and maintenance plan

Everything has to be in PHP
You have to create a few MySQL tables: users, plants + maintenance plan over a certain period, link between them
Basically, you have to create a cron task that will tell the guy that has a few indoor plants at home when to water, fertilize, cut, ... the plants he has, WHEN he has to do it.
This it just a very basic project that is going to be part of a larger project. So it has to be made very simply.
Ideally: create a library with objects that is going to be easily integrated into a larger MVC based on Zend_Framework
