A tool to run a set of linux utilities from a UI

The basic idea is that this tool will be used by users to run a suite of diagnostics against a given hostname or IP address from a network of serves we have around the world. The user will enter the hostname/IP, select which of the tools to include in the test, and which locations to test from. When they submit the test, it will run in parallel from all of the locations, and when they are all done it will consolidate the results into a simple report. ## Deliverables This project will invove the following three components: * UI front end * Enter the domain or IP you want to test * List of checkboxes of what you want to include in the test below * Backend tools * traceroute * ping * dig * lft * curl/wget * (optional) port open (telnet) * Other requirements * password protected * communicates over https * serial requests per server, but can run from a number of servers in parallel * a timeout threshold per too * runs on linux red hat and centos The basic idea is that this tool will be used by users to run a suite of diagnostics against a given hostname or IP address from a network of serves we have around the world. You can assume that all of the tools already live on the servers, and that we will be hitting the servers over https to fire off the tests. Before a lot of development starts, I'd like to see a mockup of what the UI would look like, and a simple description of the architecture that you plan to use to kick off, run, and report on the tests. It's important that you build this in such a way that it is easy to add new tests, and easy to maintain. I may come back to you down the road to extend this tool, if it goes well.
