Check Out Change

I am in the custom apparel business, and I build webstores for my clients, so orders come directly to me.? I know enough to make it work on a standard basis, but sometimes my client needs some custom commands done.

This job consists of a change when they check out.? Basically my client gives their new employees a $50 credit on their first purchase, anything over or in the future is paid by the employee.

My problem is currently when the "new" employees check out, it checks out looking like the $50 was not credited, and I have to manually deduct it and keep track in future orders.

In addition some departments aren't charged at all, I wasn't sure if there was a way to decifer that as well.

I built the site using OsCommerce, and looking for someone who has the knowledge to write a simple code that would know if the employee recieves the credit? or does not.
