I have worked extensively with keepalived and haproxy and I have working config files for both that I use currently for work production servers. I have set this up on both Ubuntu Server and CentOS.

Why I'm the best for this project? Because your load balancer not only will just work... It will be secure. Zorp firewall is maybe better for this purpose than haproxy. Documentation not included.
