Creation of Affiliate Program Toolbar

Hi diligent coders, We are looking to create a toolbar that mimics the functionality from the [[login to view URL]][1] toolbar.? The toolbar works in that if anyone visits a site goodsearch is an affilaite of and makes a purchase goodsearch will automatically (I think through cookies) add the affiliate id.?
