This project deals with building a software for monitoring the system and application health
Once the software is installed on a system, it should continuously run on the system as a daemon process, and should keep on monitoring the system for any changes taking place in the system
This changes may be system related or application related.
The changes have to be recorded in an event log, and also the contents of this log have to be stored in a database built using MySQL.
The parameters which can be used for monitoring the system are disk space falling below a certain limit, insertion of an infected diskette into the system, recording the user ids and their log in time and log out time, memory usage, CPU usage, processor usage, any other hazardous changes taking place.
It has to be developed on VB.Net 1.0 version, using Windows Management Instrumentation available.
A user-friendly interface has to be made available, which provides the administrator with option of checking on any of the parameters, and thus monitor the system health.
Also, apart from creating an event log and database, there should be an alert screen which should pop up every time something hazardous happens in the system.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. The source code should be well commented.
2) Proper documentation has to be provided, as to how has the problem definition been implemented. What is the testing phase of the project, an user manual, system design , etc. should also be included.
## Platform
The program is to be installed on Windows Xp
It has to be developed on VB.Net 1.0 version, using Windows Management Instrumentation.
The data has to be stored using MySQL.
