Determine Preferred Audio Playback Device from Registry with VB in NT

I need to be able to determine the default/preferred audio PLAYBACK device totally from the registry for all NT OS's (NT4/W2K/XP). It must be through the registry, because I need to retrieve it remotely.

This is shown in the Control Panel by different names in NT4/W2K/XP. For example in W2K it's under "Sounds and Multimedia".

Again, this must work on all NT-based operating systems, NT4, W2K and XP. If you don't have all these available, please do not bid. It also needs to be in VB 6.

If you have an example already, this greatly increases a decision. I always accept the first bid that has an example that works, if there is one, even if the bid is at maximum. I also pay a bonus for trouble-free transactions. This usually at least covers the cost to the coder and some change.
