This is part of a bigger project. We are converting a WinForm app into asp.net. We are using Asp.net, razor, EF 4.3.1, VS 2010 SP1, MVC 4, jQuery 1.8, and GitHub.
The page will take interaction from the user fields such as stock symbol selection, strategy selection. Then the page will locate the proper trades on the database using EF and will display the results in a grid for the user to select.
## Deliverables
In the database we have the following tables:
1. A group of tables which contain "potential" option trades. This is a "library" of trades which can be displayed to the user.
2. A table containing stock technical indicators such as MACD, EMA, Stochastics, OBV, volume, average volume
3. A table containing stock history. Open High Low Close Volume for each stock on each trading day.
4. A table with financials data. Such as size of company, industry type.
On the web page you develop, the user must be able to make the following filters:
1. Filter on company size, or industry type (multiples allowed)
2. Filter on stock volume (such as only stocks > 1,000,000 volume), or (top 300 in volume)
3. A listbox will be provided to the developer of typical technical indicator searches for technical analysis. For instance the list would include "EMA9 > EMA50","EMA9<EMA50". There will be dozens of search types. The user can select multiples of these.
4. Instead of 1 or 2, the user may simply type in a list of stock symbols (either space separated, or comma separated).
5. The user will select which strategy type(s) to consider. Choice examples: Bull Put, Bull Call, Bear Call, Bear Put, Iron Condor, Collar
So the selection are (1) which stock symbols to use (2) filter by technical analysis (3) filter by strategy type.
Then the user will select "Show Trades" button.
Your MVC "controller" code will create a list of stock symbols based on their criteria. Then filter out those that do not meet the technical analysis criteria. Then will select the trades from the trades "library".
Once the trades list is created, you will display these trades to the user in a grid. We are using SlickGrid.
So I recommend each filter be put into an "accordion". "Symbol Selection", "Technical Filters","Trade Types" will be the accordion headers.
